Code of Conduct

Our code of conduct is a document that outlines the expected standards of behaviour for the elected councillors with in a local council. It ensures councillors uphold high ethical standards and act in the best interests of their community. The code covers various aspects of conduct, including how councillors should interact with the public, fellow councillors, and council staff, as well as how they should handle conflicts of interest. The code of conduct of Bridlington Town Council was adopted in May 2022 as defined in the Localism Act 2011 s27(4)

Standing Orders

Standing Orders are the written rules of a local Council. They are used to confirm a Council’s internal organisational, administrative and procurement procedures and procedural matters for meetings. They are not the same as the policies of a Council but they may refer to them. These Standing Orders were presented and adopted at the Full Council meeting held on the 17th of May 2023 (Minute Reference 17/23)
